Is hand passing legal in USA Broomball?

Yes. In your own zone, behind the blue line, it is legal to hand pass, but only by the defensive team. The defensive team can pass in any direction as long as the pass begins and is completed behind the blue line. Once out of that area, it is illegal, the whistle is blown and a face off occur.

Is it a legal goal if the goalie, in clearing the ball from the crease, bats the ball forward, hitting a player, and coming back and going over the goal line?

Thanks Dennis, everyone remembers their first............ question that is!! Yes it's a good goal. the rule to remember is that a goal cannot be scored as a result of an illegal action. Had the attacking team batted the ball, no goal would be allowed.

Dede asks: What is the rule in the International Broomball Federation of Associations, for touching a ball over the shoulders.

First off, the goalkeeper has no special privilege for being allowed to  touch the ball over the shoulders, even in the crease. If the offending team first touches the ball after a high broom, an immediate whistle is blown, and the ball faced off at the offending team's blue line. If the high broom could be considered dangerous play, then a penalty is awarded to the guilty player. However, if you are specifically asking about the upcoming World Cup Championships, check the specific rules before your first game, as there is a Board of Directors meeting the day before the tourney begins and this is where rule changes are introduced, This rule could be possibly modified! Cory follows up with a version of the same rule: What happens if the goaltender in making a save while on their knees, hits the ball when the ball is over the shoulders? The rule reads normal playing height, which means standing height. As long as you stay below your normal shoulder height with your broom, you won't be called for a high broom!
